Air Rifles

Whatever the requirement we aim to stock it! Whether it's your first air rifle, an air rifle to control vermin or you fancy upgrading your present gun we like to think that somewhere in our range there will be a selection to suit your needs.

We stock the leading brands of air rifles, both new and second hand, such as BSA, Weihrauch, Cometa and Webley. All new air rifles held in stock carry at least 12 months full manufacturer's warranty indicating the quality of product.

Air rifles are limited to 12ft/lbs of energy (this is a calculation based on the velocity the pellet exits the barrel) - over this and they become firearms and are treated differently. We stock air rifles in a range of ratings from 6ft/lbs suitable for younger people right up to the full power 12ft/lbs models suitable for target and vermin control.

There are 2 distinct types of air rifle:

1) The traditional break barrel spring operated models.

2) The pre-charged compressed air powered air rifles.

The latter can be effectively silenced making them quieter, are totally recoil-less and tend to be bolt action operated. Multi-shot models are also available. However although both types are equally suited to target shooting and vermin control there are many pro's and con's to each, which is where the advice offered in the shop comes in. An air rifle can be chosen to suit your budget and also to match your individual requirements.

We also offer a bottle filling service and sell the pumps suitable for re-charging this type of air rifle.

Air rifles have become increasingly easier to shoot accurately due to the development of inexpensive but quality telescopic sights available to the shooter nowadays. A good selection of leading brands such as Tasco, Apollo, Opti-Too and Nikko Stirling are always held in stock as well as suitable mounts.

In stock is a selection of camouflage clothing to suit the successful air rifle user. American Realtree and Advantage pattern clothing has proven increasingly popular over the past few years. A range from gloves, head-nets and caps through to fully waterproof trousers and jackets are held in stock in all sizes.

Paul Simpson owns a pre-charged Theoben Rapid 17/17 fitted with a Tasco Titan scope and has permission to shoot over land to control vermin such as rats, rabbits and pigeons. He is able to use practical experience to advise you about the function and suitability of most leading makes of air rifle, scope choice, even something as 'simple' as pellet choice.
